Jason and Tracy Day - Thailand

For every front-line combat soldier, there are approximately eight people supporting them to be there – in mission it is no different. We live in Chiang Mai, where Jason helps support approximately 460 Christian mission partners working in a variety of East Asian countries with OMF. Tracy looks after our children and in her spare time volunteers at a school and does prayer walks around the red light district. She listens to people and journeys with them as they work through various struggles.

Call

To support others and to share the love of Christ with people we meet, whoever they may be

Role

Personnel manager seconded to OMF (Jason) and a housewife and mum (Tracy)

Tracy became a Christian at age 14, and has felt called to mission work since then. She initially trained with Youth With a Mission and later became a nurse. Jason became a Christian at age 21, and after thinking that he would never leave the security of a career in banking, found himself at Bible college in Scotland for a year. This was a foundational time and he left with a sense that God had something for him overseas. Following this, we served on a placement in Russia for a year with Voluntary Service Overseas, after which we joined the Church Mission Society who sent us to work in Nepal. Together, we served in Nepal for eight years, working at Tansen Mission Hospital and Tansen Nursing School, Jason as team leader and Tracy as a nurse tutor. We then moved to take up a post in Thailand, where we currently serve. We are genuine in our desire to see lives changed and renewed by the power of Christ.

CMS has a rich heritage and a real passion to see Jesus known. Many organisations say people are their greatest asset but demonstrate otherwise; not so with CMS. Having been with them since 2004 we have felt very much cared for, in the good times and the hard times.
